Implicit finite element analysis

Witryna31 maj 2016 · The spatial discretization is based on surface finite element method while the temporal discretization methods are first-and second-order stabilized semi-implicit schemes to guarantee the energy decay. The stability analysis and error estimate are provided for the stabilized semi-implicit schemes. WitrynaIn particular we use a finite element approximation based on P2/P1 elements for the velocity field and pressure discretization in space and backward Euler method (with semi-implicit treatment of the nonlinear term) for the time discretization. We firstly test our algorithm on a simpler problem with known exact solution.
